Toronto orders Live Nation to fix storm-damaged Rogers Stadium before AC/DC show
The City of Toronto has issued an order requiring Live Nation Canada to repair significant storm damage at Rogers Stadium ahead of a sold-out AC/DC concert on Sept. 16.
A major storm on Wednesday caused extensive damage to Rogers Stadium in North York, prompting the City of Toronto to serve Live Nation Canada with an "order to remedy unsafe building." The order mandates immediate site security, hiring of a professional engineer to evaluate structural integrity, and completion of repairs, with reports due by Sept. 8 and Sept. 11. Drone footage shows collapsed bleachers and displaced structural framing, raising concerns about the venue’s safety for the upcoming AC/DC concert on Sept. 16, which remains officially unsold but may be postponed if repairs are not finished.
Councilor James Pasternak emphasized that the stadium must be proven safe before any audience is allowed back. Live one outlet confirmed no injuries occurred but acknowledged the damage and is continuing assessments. One ticket holder, Miguel Avila, said he will wait for the concert if the venue is rebuilt.
