Toronto police probe suspected hate crime after Israeli flags set ablaze

Police in Toronto are investigating a possible hate-motivated incident after several Israeli flags were burned early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded around 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 7 to a fire near Sunrise Avenue and O’Connor Drive. The blaze, close to the Word of the Faith International Christian Centre, involved multiple Israeli flags that were lit. No injuries were reported and no suspects have been identified. Investigators are treating the case as a suspected hate-motivated offence and are seeking information from the public.
