Torrent Pharma posts lower Q2 profit despite strong revenue surge
Torrent Pharmaceuticals reported a 9.6% drop in net profit to ₹534 crore for Q2 FY27, even as revenue jumped 50.8% to ₹4,979 crore.
Torrent Pharmaceuticals announced that its consolidated net profit for the September quarter of FY27 fell 9.6% to ₹534 crore, while revenue from operations surged 50.8% to ₹4,979 crore. The profit decline stemmed from a sharp rise in finance costs, which increased to ₹300 crore, and higher depreciation and amortisation, which rose to ₹609 crore, together accounting for ₹657 crore of the expense increase. Total expenses grew 70.9% to ₹4,222 crore, reflecting the integration of JB Pharma, whose revenue of ₹1,086 crore was included for the first time after the acquisition in January 2026.
Despite the profit dip, EBITDA rose 53.8% to ₹1,666 crore, improving the margin to 33.5%. The company also reported growth in overseas markets, with U.S. revenue climbing 24% to ₹417 crore and Brazil up 38% to ₹440 crore, driven by new product launches. Shares fell 2.78% after the results were released.
