Tour of Lombardy returns with a grueling 241-km mountain circuit
The 120th Tour of Lombardy kicks off Saturday, featuring a 241-kilometre route that includes multiple steep climbs across Bergamo and the Lake Como area.
The peloton gathers for the fifth and final Monument of the season, the 120th edition of the Tour of Lombardy, covering 241 kilometres of challenging terrain. The race starts in Bergham and quickly moves into the Val Seriana, offering only a short flat opening before a succession of climbs, including the Colle dei Pasta, Selvino and Valpiana. Riders then head toward Lake Como, where they face the legendary Ghisallo ascent with sections exceeding fourteen percent gradient, likely to thin the field. A fast descent leads to Maglio, after which the competitors enter a 22-kilometre circuit around Como that features the steep Civiglio climb and the narrow, irregular roads of San Fermo della Battaglia, culminating in a finish after a final descent.
