Around 40 visitors were riding on two carriages in the woods of Val Roseg when the driver realized the brakes were insufficient on a downhill section. He attempted to steer toward flatter ground, a horse fell and the carriage struck a tree, ejecting passengers. A 73-year-old woman died, and two of the injured remain in serious condition while the others were treated for lesser injuries.
