Tourist in Palma abducted and beaten after attackers confuse him with target

A foreign visitor who had traveled to Palma to see a friend was left alone at the residence when three men entered, tied him up, beat him and placed him in a van. The perpetrators drove several kilometres before throwing the tourist from the moving vehicle, where he was discovered injured on the s’Aranjassa road. National Police officers responded, took his statement and identified a property worker as one of the suspects, leading to his arrest.

Further inquiries linked two additional men, both of whom were also detained; a court later ordered two to remain in custody while releasing the third. Authorities believe the attack was a mistaken-identity warning aimed at the property’s regular occupant amid an economic dispute.
