Tourist prosecuted for disrupting sea turtles at Oman’s Ras Al Hadd

Authorities in Oman have taken court action against a tourist after a social-media video revealed the person interfering with sea turtles at the Ras Al Hadd nesting area. The Environment Authority stated that the conduct violated national wildlife protection regulations and that the case is being pursued in accordance with the law. The agency emphasized a zero-tolerance stance toward activities that could harm turtles or their natural environment.

It also called on citizens, residents, and visitors to follow established guidelines, avoid touching or approaching the animals, and report any violations. The move underscores the government's commitment to safeguarding biodiversity along the Omani coast.
