Tourist wedding bus flips at Kerala petrol station, about 20 injured
A tourist bus carrying a wedding party overturned near a fuel station in Kakkoor, Kerala, injuring roughly 20 passengers who were taken to local hospitals.
At approximately 10:25 a.m. on Thursday, a tourist bus loaded with roughly 35 members of a wedding party lost control after the driver swerved to the right to avoid a two-wheeler that turned without signalling. The bus struck a small concrete pillar at a petrol pump in Kakkoor on the Koothattukulam-Piravom Road and overturned near the fuel dispensing area, narrowly missing the pumps, a parked car and another two-wheeler.
About 20 passengers sustained injuries and were transported to three private hospitals in Koothattukulam, with authorities saying none appeared serious. Local residents and rescue workers quickly freed trapped passengers and assisted the injured. Police are investigating the incident, examining CCTV footage to assess whether the bus was speeding and to reconstruct the sequence of events.
