Toy Story 5 Hits Digital Stores; Disney+ Streaming Date Still Unclear
The fifth Toy Story film is now available for purchase and rental online, with a DVD and 4K Blu-ray launch slated for late September, while its Disney+ debut remains unannounced.
Directed by Andrew Stanton and co-written with Kenna Harris, Toy Story 5 continues the saga that began in 1995, following Woody, Buzz, Jessie and a new screen-based toy named Lilypad voiced by Greta Lee. The film earned more than $1 billion at the global box office before moving to digital platforms on Tuesday, August 18, with purchase prices of $29.99 and rental rates of $24.99 on Amazon Prime, while other retailers may vary.
A DVD and 4K Blu-ray edition, including deleted scenes and featurettes, is scheduled for release on September 22, 2026. The movie is not yet streaming on any subscription service, but because it is a Disney property, a Disney+ premiere is anticipated in late September, following a pattern similar to recent Pixar releases. Disney+ subscription options range from $11.99 per month with ads to $18.99 ad-free, with bundle packages that include Hulu, HBO Max and one outlet+. The exact streaming launch date has not been confirmed.
