Transfer champion Cameron Bagwell fuels River Oaks' season-opening win

Two-time LHSAA champion Cameron Bagwell debuted for River Oaks, helping the Mustangs secure a 36-18 victory over Tallulah Academy.

Two-time LHSAA champion Cameron Bagwell transferred from Sterlington to River Oaks School and immediately influenced the Mustangs' 36-18 opening victory over Tallulah Academy at Woody Boyles Stadium. The win gave coach Bo Barton his 200th career coaching victory and continued River Oaks' 14-game winning streak. Bagwell, who logged 77 tackles last season, made a tackle on the first play and later broke free for a long touchdown run, adapting to playing both offense and defense.

Senior Conner Hayman and junior Andrew Robinson also scored early, with Byron Price adding a long touchdown. Teammates highlighted Bagwell's dedication, and the team plans to tighten its blocking as the season progresses.
