Transport Minister Vitézy appoints Pogonyi as ministerial envoy for project evaluation

Hungary’s transport and investment minister Vitézy Dávid announced the appointment of Pogonyi Csaba as a ministerial envoy for a two-year term, tasked with overseeing the evaluation of transport, housing and land-development projects and the creation of a unified data strategy. The position involves designing a comprehensive socio-economic assessment and monitoring system for these programmes, as well as drafting the methodological and regulatory framework required for its operation.

Pogonyi will manage the production of analyses, forecasts, models and impact assessments that underpin transport and land-development decisions, and will direct the establishment of a shared data bank, project list and indicator suite. He is also charged with coordinating the ministry’s analytical and decision-support activities with background institutions and state-owned enterprises, and with supervising the preliminary appraisal, implementation tracking and post-impact review of priority projects designated by the minister. The appointment carries a salary equivalent to a deputy state secretary and includes benefits defined by government decree, with a five-member secretariat assisting his work.
