Truck collides with SUV near Foam Lake, killing three and injuring several
A truck attempting to pass a semi struck an SUV on a rural road west of Foam Lake, Saskatchewan, killing a woman and two children.
Police say a truck attempting to pass a semi on a grid road near Foam Lake, Saskatchewan, collided with an SUV, resulting in three fatalities. The victims were a 40-year-old woman and two girls, eight and five years old, all residents of Foam Lake, who were declared dead by EMS at the scene. An adult male passenger in the SUV was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and the truck driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries; two other passengers also required medical care.
The semi driver reported no injuries and his vehicle was undamaged. RCMP arrested Kelly Knopf, a 40-year-old from Sumter, South Carolina, charging him with three counts each of dangerous operation causing death and bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court, and investigators continue the inquiry with a collision reconstructionist.
