Trump administration funds renovation of White House bowling alley using federal contracts
The White House, through the General Services Administration, awarded contracts totaling about $262,000 to upgrade the Harry S. Truman Bowling Alley in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
Under direction from the White House, the General Services Administration issued a $253,000 contract to Charles Mann Enterprises for lighting upgrades at the Harry S. Truman Bowling Alley located in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. A subsequent award of $8,800 covered escort services to transport workers through restricted zones. Previous renovation proposals for the alley were halted after Republican opposition succeeded in canceling the project and adding a funding ban.
The current administration, however, has proceeded with the work despite earlier criticism. This allocation is part of a broader pattern of extensive refurbishments across the White House, including changes to the East Wing, a new ballroom, and other historic spaces.
