In a self-promotional briefing, the Trump administration enumerated a series of policy moves it frames as victories before the 2026 midterm elections. The Supreme Court affirmed the enforceability of a mail-in voting executive order, overturning a lower-court block brought by 23 Democratic-led states. The State Department, in coordination with Homeland Security, plans to revoke up to 200,000 B1 and B2 visas issued between 2016 and 2026 for individuals who have applied for asylum.

ICE recorded 49,571 arrests in July, a 15 percent rise from the previous month and the highest monthly total of the second Trump term. Additional highlights included a proposed $103,265 fee for capped H-1B visas, the elimination of certain refundable tax credits for illegal migrants, and a pause on immigrant visa processing worldwide for consular training. Economic indicators such as a strong PMI reading and manufacturing expansion in Philadelphia were also cited, alongside private-sector investments like Amazon’s new robotics plant in Austin and Cleveland-Cliffs’ $1 billion steel plant upgrade in Ohio.
