Trump claims Michael Cohen has withdrawn his testimony in Bragg case

Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that Michael Cohen, the prosecution’s principal witness in the Manhattan DA’s case, has fully withdrawn his prior testimony. Cohen had testified that Trump listed a payment to adult actress Stormy Daniels as a legal expense, leading to a 2024 conviction. Trump claimed Cohen was pressured and coerced, and thanked him for “courage” in correcting the record.

He urged that the politically motivated case be immediately dismissed, accusing New York Attorney General Letitia James and District Attorney Alvin Bragg of breaking the law. Trump continues to deny wrongdoing and frames the prosecution as a weaponized effort against him. However, how the court will respond to the recantation and whether it can overturn the conviction remains unclear.
