Donald Trump shared an image that ranks him as the only president in a "greatest" category, while assigning other leaders to labels ranging from "great" to "failures." The graphic adapts a 1948 Life magazine illustration and adds categories not present in the original. Academic surveys, including the Presidential Greatness Project and a Siena University poll of presidential scholars, gave Trump a score of roughly ten out of one hundred, placing him at the bottom of the rankings and below figures like James Buchanan.

In the Siena study, he was ranked last in both integrity and intelligence. Scholars such as Justin Vaughn and Barbara Perry argue that Trump’s involvement in the January 6 insurrection and claims about the 2020 election undermine his constitutional legacy. A White House spokesperson, Davis Ingle, asserted that Trump will be remembered as a highly consequential president, a view not shared by the academic community.
