Trump declares new White House helipad finished as ballroom work resumes

President Donald Trump announced the completion of a dedicated helipad on the White House grounds, emphasizing that previous helicopter landings on the grass posed safety risks. The landing pad will serve Marine One, the call sign for the presidential aircraft. This development comes as construction on the White House Ballroom, a long-standing passion project for Trump, has resumed after the Supreme Court granted permission to proceed despite ongoing legal scrutiny.

Trump asserted that the nation lacks a proper venue for state functions and that private financing is supporting the ballroom’s build. He also referenced broader renovation efforts across Washington, D.C., such as restoring the equestrian statues near the Lincoln Memorial, refurbishing the Reflecting Pool, and repairing fountains and parks.
