Trump heads to Mobile for rally supporting Alabama GOP ticket and infrastructure project

Donald Trump arrived in Mobile, Alabama for a rally at the University of South Alabama, joining the state's Republican governor, attorney-general and congressional candidates on stage.

On Friday, Donald Trump touched down in Mobile, Alabama to address a crowd at the University of South Alabama’s Mitchell Center, where the Republican ticket for governor, attorney general and the 1st and 2nd congressional districts will also speak. Senators Tommy Tuberville and Katie Britt are slated to introduce the president, followed by candidates Katherine Robertson, Jerry Carl, State Rep. Rhett Marques and party chair Scott Stadthagen, who highlighted the importance of flipping the 2nd District.

The rally aligns with the groundbreaking ceremony for the $3.2 billion Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project, a venture financed by a $2.52 billion federal loan finalized by the Trump administration. Authorities have imposed strict security protocols, banning firearms, large containers and drones, and the city will cover police costs; a protest is planned on campus and university facilities will close at noon. The stop is the second of a four-state tour that includes events in Oklahoma, Ohio and Nebraska, aimed at energizing Republican voters ahead of the November 3 midterms.
