Trump heads to Ohio to rally support for Sen. Jon Husted against Sherrod Brown

Donald Trump plans to visit Ohio on Saturday, making a campaign stop in Vandalia north of Dayton following appearances in Oklahoma and Alabama. He will endorse Sen. Jon Husted, a veteran Ohio Republican who previously served as state lawmaker, House speaker, secretary of state and lieutenant governor before filling the seat vacated by JD Vance. Husted is confronting a competitive race against former Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown, who is attempting a comeback after losing his Senate seat to Bernie Moreno two years earlier.

The Ohio contest is viewed as crucial for determining which party will control the Senate. Ohio Republican Party Chairman Alex Triantafilou expressed that Trump’s visit is highly desired because of his ability to draw voters.
