Trump hints at upcoming surprise for OMB chief Russ Vought at Baltimore event
Trump told Russ Vought he has major surprises planned in the coming weeks during a speech in Baltimore.
During a speech at the proposed site of a Navy submarine manufacturing facility in Baltimore, Donald Trump referenced Russ Vought, one outlet director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, hinting that major developments are imminent within weeks. The remarks were made in front of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other administration members. Trump called Vought “one of the very important people in the history of our country” and suggested he has “great things happening.”
Vought, who previously served in the same role during the latter half of Trump’s first term, oversaw extensive civil-service cuts and redirected congressional funds, including freezing $214 million in Ukraine security aid and reallocating Defense Department money to the southern border wall. Trump has previously dubbed Vought his “Grim Reaper” for those budgetary reductions. The White House has not commented on the comment.
