Trump launches intensive rally tour to aid vulnerable GOP candidates

Donald Trump is embarking on a rapid series of rallies across swing states to support Republican candidates facing tight races.

Donald Trump revealed a schedule to campaign in 35 vulnerable Republican races over about 30 days, promising a flurry of in-person rallies and multiple “tele-town halls” that could total ten in one evening. The tour begins with a rally in Wichita, Kansas, where he will back Senator Roger Marshall. He will then travel to Greenville, North Carolina, to support Senate hopeful Michael Whatley and House candidate Laurie Buckhout.

On Wednesday, Trump will appear in Clemson, South Carolina, for Senate nominee Darline Graham. Thursday’s stop is Sioux City, Iowa, where Senate candidates Ashley Hinson and Josh Turek are competing. He will head to Fort Myers, Florida, on Friday to aid House challengers Scott Singer and Mike Beltran. Saturday’s event in Macon, Georgia, backs gubernatorial nominee Rick Jackson, and the final appearance is slated for St. Clair County, Michigan, to rally support for Senate candidate Mike Rogers.

Why it matters

Trump's tour could sway close races and shape the balance of power in Congress.
