Executives earlier this year referred to the launch price as an introductory or promotional figure, language that has now been removed from the site.
At the new price, the device is outmatched by competitors like the iPhone 17E, Galaxy S26 FE, or even older flagships such as the iPhone 16 or Pixel 10. The change also follows limited software support and reports that some customers never received their phones.
