Trump nominates Arkansas judge Lee Rudofsky to the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals

President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that he will nominate Lee Rudofsky, currently a federal district judge in Arkansas, to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Rudofsky, a Harvard Law and Cornell graduate, previously held the positions of Arkansas solicitor general and assistant general counsel at Walmart before his 2019 district-court appointment. The president described him as a steadfast defender of the Constitution.

Arkansas Lieutenant Governor Leslie Rutledge, who once served as the state’s attorney general, and Attorney General Tim Griffin both issued statements congratulating Rudofsky and urging the Senate to confirm him promptly. The nomination adds another Trump-appointed judge to the appellate bench and signals continued influence over the federal judiciary.
