Trump predicts oil to fall below $2 per gallon after US victory over Iran

Donald Trump used his Truth Social platform to claim that oil prices will sharply decline, falling below two dollars per gallon, once the United States defeats Iran in one outlet West Asian conflict. He argued that the high energy prices are a direct result of the war and that markets will stabilize rapidly after a US win, projecting gasoline to drop from three dollars to under two per gallon. Trump also restated his pledge to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf cautioned Washington against any attacks on Iran’s oil and gas facilities, describing the sector as vulnerable. He reshared a post from US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, who claimed Iran’s oil tanker fleet is defenseless and that US forces could strike it. US Central Command cited recent strikes on three Iranian crude tankers linked to the IRGC, with Admiral Brad Cooper warning of higher economic costs if Iran attacks US ships.
