According to an Angus Reid USA poll conducted from September 19 to 25, Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to 34 percent, the weakest mark of his current term, while 61 percent of respondents disapprove. Support remains strong among self-identified MAGA Republicans, with 94 percent approving, but drops to 59 percent among other Republicans and only 28 percent among independents. Voter frustration is linked to the Iran war launched in February, which has pushed gasoline to $4.43 a gallon and diesel to $6.41, while food costs have also risen.
One outlet/SSRS poll shows two-thirds of Americans believe Trump has worsened the economy, and the issue now tops voters’ priorities. Democrats enjoy a 16-point advantage in the generic congressional ballot and 56 percent of registered voters plan to back Democratic candidates in the November 3 midterms. Some former Trump supporters are shifting toward Democrats, reflecting broader discontent within the GOP.
