Trump uses AI-generated voice to promote Fannie Mae housing ad before midterms

Donald Trump posted a video for Fannie Mae that features an AI replica of his voice, advertising the mortgage group's new branding ahead of the election.

Donald Trump posted an advertisement for Fannie Mae that uses an artificial-intelligence clone of his voice to tout the mortgage association’s rebranding and the strength of the American economy. The video, first released in January and later shared on his X account 56 days before the midterms, includes a disclaimer stating the audio is AI-generated and used with permission, though the same post on Truth Social left out this note.

Housing Director Bill Pulte originally uploaded the clip to X earlier in the year, but the specific AI tool or vendor was not identified. The narration praises Trump’s economic record and declares him the greatest housing president in history. The Trump family has previously used AI voice technology, with Melania Trump hiring ElevenLabs for her memoir narration. The release comes amid rising living-cost concerns and follows a series of other AI-driven social media content from Trump over the Labor Day weekend.

Why it matters

It shows a former president leveraging AI to shape political messaging and influence voter perception ahead of elections.
