Trump vows strong U.S. response after Iranian strike on Jordan base

He noted that U.S. air defense systems stopped nearly all incoming missiles, permitting a single non-threatening missile to continue its trajectory. On his Truth Social account, Trump labeled Iran a "Failed Nation" and expressed doubt about Tehran's credibility in any future talks.

The attack followed a U.S. airstrike on Iranian rocket launchers that broke a month-long cease-fire. In a separate incident, Iran fired a drone toward the United Arab Emirates, which the UAE Defense Ministry intercepted over its waters. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced an "economic D-Day," threatening secondary sanctions on entities that keep trading with Iran.
