TSA agents uncover fentanyl, meth and ketamine hidden inside a Mac mini at Phoenix airport

TSA screeners at Phoenix Sky Harbor detected a Mac mini packed with fentanyl, methamphetamine and ketamine, leading to the passenger's arrest.

During a routine security check at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, a TSA officer identified an unusual shape and wiring within an Apple Mac mini in a passenger's bag. Lead officer Logan Stortz initially thought the image might be part of an internal test, but further inspection by Isaiah Martinez Jr. revealed tampering and a concealed mass. An explosives specialist, Robert Rosas Perez II, discovered plastic-wrapped material containing a crystallized substance and an orange pill-like item, prompting an immediate stop to the screening.

Field tests indicated the presence of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and ketamine. Phoenix police were summoned and arrested the passenger, whose name was not disclosed. Supervisory officer Emily Price noted that such concealment methods may be more common than the public realizes, though TSA's primary focus remains on weapons and explosives.
