TSA's Gateside program lets non‑ticketed PreCheck members clear security at 13 airports

The Transportation Security Administration has rolled out Gateside, a pilot that permits members of TSA PreCheck and other trusted‑traveler programs to move through security without holding an airline ticket. Applicants must submit a request one to three days before the intended visit and, if approved, present identification and a mobile‑device dashboard to a TSA officer; no physical or digital pass is issued. The service grants access to PreCheck lanes, is free of charge, and each approval lasts one calendar day with multiple entries allowed.

Gateside is operating at 13 airports, including three of the nation’s busiest such as Dallas/Fort Worth International and Los Angeles International. The cost of the program matches the five‑year PreCheck enrollment fee of $76 to $85, and public response is divided.
