TSH Resources asserts Indonesian assets remain untouched by recent haze fires
TSH Resources Bhd said its Indonesian plantations, concessions and related assets have not been impacted by the latest forest and peatland fires.
TSH Resources Bhd reported to Bursa Malaysia that its Indonesian estates, concessions and other assets are unaffected by the recent forest and peatland fires that have caused regional haze. The company responded to a general information request from Singapore Exchange Ltd, stating that it has not been cited or warned by any environmental agency. Its zero-burning policy, enforced across all group companies, contractors and suppliers since May 2009, prohibits the use of fire for land preparation, new planting or replanting.
TSH also confirmed that it has not established any new peatland plantations since 31 December 2015 and allocates roughly RM2 million each year to fire-prevention and response measures. All Indonesian estates are certified under the ISPO scheme, which undergoes regular third-party audits.
Why it matters
The statement reassures investors and regulators that the company's supply chain is not disrupted by the haze crisis.
