TSMC posts record August revenue as AI and smartphone demand surge

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. reported August revenue of NT$514.806 billion, up 53.3% from a year earlier, fueled by strong AI and new-phone orders.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. announced that its consolidated revenue for August hit a historic NT$514.806 billion, marking a 53.3% year-over-year increase and a 10.1% rise from July. The surge reflects robust demand for AI-driven chips and a wave of orders linked to new smartphone launches. Over the first eight months of the year, total revenue climbed 39.3% to NT$3.387 trillion.

July and August together generated NT$982.386 billion, positioning the company to meet or exceed its third-quarter guidance of US$44.6-45.8 billion. Looking ahead, TSMC expects its 2026 revenue in dollar terms to grow by slightly more than 40% and has raised its planned 2026 capital expenditure to between US$60 billion and US$64 billion to support rising customer demand.
