Tucson Drug Ring Leader Sentenced to 17 Years for Fentanyl Trafficking
Amanda Rachelle Miller, known as the “Queen of the South,” received a 17-year prison term for heading a fentanyl and methamphetamine network in Arizona.
Amanda Rachelle Miller, who called herself the “Queen of the South,” was sentenced to 17 years in prison and three years of supervised release for running a large fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking enterprise in southern Arizona while a fugitive in Mexico. She managed couriers, arranged large drug deliveries and coordinated cross-border laundering, and claimed to have devised “rainbow fentanyl” marketing. Co-conspirators Alberto Gabriel Aranda-Ramon, Michele Oller and Rodrigo Lopez-Lozoya received sentences ranging from ten to sixteen and a half years, along with fines and restitution.
Authorities confiscated cash, high-value clothing, jewelry, eight vehicles and fourteen firearms, and directed $58,000 in restitution to victim-services and substance-abuse programs. U.S. Attorney Timothy Courchaine said the convictions demonstrate strong inter-agency cooperation against fentanyl networks.
