Tulsa police seek suspect accused of repeatedly defecating in local stores
Tulsa officers are searching for a man who has been caught on video defecating inside businesses while wearing only a thong, a cut-open mask and a shower cap.
Tulsa police are investigating a series of incidents in which a man, described as wearing only a thong, a cut-open mask and a shower cap, repeatedly defecated inside a shopping center’s businesses early Wednesday morning. The suspect was captured on security cameras smearing feces from a dog waste bag onto walls and doors, and in one clip he also displayed glasses, red Crocs, a black cross-body bag, purple latex gloves and a partially cut medical mask before repeating the act.
Officers have responded to the location several times but have not yet located the individual, prompting the department to post a plea for tips on its Facebook page. The case has been likened to other recent “serial pooper” incidents in Colorado, Massachusetts and New Jersey. A psychologist offered that such behavior may be driven by a need for a thrill by pushing the limits of acceptable conduct. Authorities continue to seek information to apprehend the suspect and prevent further incidents.
Why it matters
The case highlights a bizarre public safety issue and the challenges police face in tracking unconventional offenders.
