Turcan says Mureşan government will seek parliamentary vote on pro-EU reforms
PNL deputy Raluca Turcan announced that the incoming Mureşan cabinet will present its program to Parliament and pursue a pro-European agenda.
According to Raluca Turcan, the PNL parliamentary group heard designated prime minister Siegfried Mureşan and interim premier Ilie Bolojan detail the future cabinet’s direction, describing it as unequivocally pro-European with a robust rule of law and a reformed state serving citizens. The program calls for a streamlined executive with up to three state secretaries per ministry and three vice-premiers, consolidation of public institutions, a reduction in the number of legislators, elimination of dual pension-salary benefits, continuation of special pension reforms, and the listing or privatization of state-owned companies under clear rules.
It also proposes a refocused ANAF targeting large-scale fraud and evasion, and the creation of efficient public services. While PSD rejected the proposal and left open the prospect of aligning with AUR, Turcan stressed that the government will not raise taxes or levies. The cabinet plans to submit its program and ministerial list for a parliamentary vote.
