Turkey's intelligence chief and Libya's acting defense minister discuss unity and cooperation

In Istanbul, Ibrahim Kalın, chief of Turkey's National Intelligence Organization, held talks with Abdussalam Zubi, the acting defense minister of Libya's Government of National Unity. The discussion focused on the accelerating negotiations aimed at merging Libya's fragmented military and political structures, as well as broader regional dynamics. Kalın highlighted Turkey's "One Libya" policy, stressing its commitment to safeguard Libya's territorial integrity and to maintain security cooperation.
Zubi expressed gratitude for Turkey's contributions toward Libyan unity. The meeting followed recent Ankara talks with Libya's House of Representatives speaker Aguila Saleh and High Council of State head Mohammed Takala, and coincided with expanding Turkish involvement in Libya's energy sector, including a joint oil-field operation awarded to TPAO and over $2.3 billion in Turkish projects in the country.
