Turkey's manufacturing capacity utilization climbs to 74.2% in September

The overall capacity utilization of Turkey's manufacturing sector rose to 74.2% in September, up 0.7 points from August.

Data released by the Central Bank indicate that Turkey's manufacturing capacity utilization edged up to 74.2% in September, improving by 0.7 percentage points from August. Among major industrial groups, intermediate goods achieved the highest rate at 74.5%, a marginal decline from the prior month, while durable consumer goods slipped to a low of 66.4%, down 1.8 points. Sector-specific figures show wood product manufacturers operating at 83.7% capacity, the highest among all categories, whereas the leather industry recorded the lowest at 59.8%.

In parallel, the seasonally adjusted Real Sector Confidence Index rose modestly to 102.5, buoyed by positive business outlooks on orders and employment, but tempered by weaker expectations for export orders and future production. These mixed signals reflect divergent trends across Turkey's industrial landscape.
