Turkey showcases booming defence exports and deepening ties with Poland at MSPO 2026

At the 34th International Defence Industry Fair in Kielce, Turkey used the platform to signal its rising influence in Europe’s security architecture. Ambassador Rauf Alp Denktaş stressed that Turkey and Poland together command the two biggest land forces in NATO’s European command, while both economies rank among the world’s largest. Professor Haluk Görgün disclosed that Turkish defence exports reached $6.4 billion in 2026, with 56% destined for European and NATO customers, and that the country now stands as the 11th-largest global arms exporter.

Aselsan’s Ahmet Akyol highlighted the firm’s top-three global standing in electronic warfare and announced a new contract for radar and electro-optical systems with Poland. Exhibits from MKE and Roketsan demonstrated advanced missile and smart-munition technologies, including the Teber guidance kit and the 300-km Khan missile. Collectively, the officials portrayed Turkey as a supplier of not just weapons but of technology, expertise and long-term strategic partnerships.
