Turkey’s intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalın meets Afghan leaders to deepen security cooperation
Ibrahim Kalın, head of Turkey’s MIT, traveled to Kabul and Kandahar for talks with senior Afghan officials on boosting security and intelligence ties.
During his visit, Kalın met with Abdul Haq Wasiq, Abdul Ghani Baradar, Sirajuddin Haqqani and Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid. The discussions centered on expanding cooperation between Turkey and Afghanistan in intelligence, counter-terrorism and border security. Participants also exchanged views on regional issues such as the U.S.-Israel-Iran conflict, migrant trafficking and drug smuggling.
