Turkish market pauses trading as BIST 100 slides amid fund payout woes

The suspension was automatically triggered when the main index dropped markedly. Bloomberg connected the decline to Pusula Portfoy’s difficulty processing client withdrawals, prompting investors to pull sizable sums from Turkish funds. Economist Banu Kivci Tokali of BVeri warned that growing doubts about fund liquidity could spread to other funds and companies.
