Turkish police detain dozens in nationwide raids linked to Starlink sabotage investigation
Police in Turkey arrested 85 people in coordinated raids across 30 provinces as part of a probe into a criminal network tied to a Starlink ground station fire in Poland.
Turkish law enforcement carried out synchronized operations in 30 provinces, detaining a total of 85 individuals suspected of belonging to the "Daltons" criminal group. The organization, described as a new-generation gang, is alleged to have links to the September fire at a Starlink ground station in Wola Krobowska, near Warsaw, a site used by Ukrainian forces. Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski labeled the incident sabotage aimed at hindering Ukrainian military communications, while intelligence minister Tomasz Siemoniak framed it as part of Russia's hybrid warfare.
Earlier, two Turkish nationals were held in Germany and one in Poland for suspected involvement in the arson. The Daltons' alleged leader is subject to an Interpol Red Notice, and the group is known for using social media to recruit members across Europe.
Why it matters
The arrests expose transnational criminal links to sabotage of critical communications used in the Ukraine conflict.
