Turkish police seize over 200 kilograms of synthetic drugs from mobile caravan lab
Police in Istanbul arrested two foreign nationals after uncovering a caravan used as a mobile drug laboratory, seizing 213 kilograms of synthetic substances.
In Istanbul, police detained two foreign nationals following a months-long investigation that started after they observed the men moving bags from a foreign-registered caravan in the Şişli district. Surveillance revealed the suspects had rented a house two streets away, where the liquid synthetic drugs found in the caravan were reportedly processed into solid forms for sale. A coordinated raid on the caravan and the house resulted in the seizure of a total of 213 kilograms of synthetic drugs—162 kilograms in liquid form and 51 kilograms as solids or crystals—plus equipment used in their manufacture.
The suspects were taken into custody, questioned, and remanded pending court proceedings. The operation drew comparisons to the TV series “Breaking Bad,” which also featured a caravan-based drug lab.
