Tusk cites Zondacrypto probe excerpts, lawyer claims selective manipulation

On September 4, Prime Minister Donald Tusk addressed the Sejm shortly before a vote on rejecting the presidential veto of the crypto-assets market law, reading a passage from the Zondacrypto investigation that referenced Zbigniew Ziobro. Lawyer Piotr Kusznieruk criticized the presentation, pointing out that the audience initially lacked knowledge of the legal standing of the person quoted. He highlighted that Prosecutor General's office spokesperson initially refused to disclose the status, and only later did Ewa Wrzosek confirm that Przemysław Kral was providing explanations as a suspect.

Kusznieruk argued that publishing selective excerpts without this context misleads the public and that political commentary cannot replace judicial assessment of evidence. He emphasized that a suspect’s statements are not equivalent to factual findings and require corroboration through independent documentation.
