TWICE's Chaeyoung Leaves JYP After 14 Years to Pursue Solo Project
Chaeyoung announced she has ended her 14-year contract with JYP Entertainment and will focus on her own LIL FANTASY venture.
Chaeyoung, TWICE's main rapper and sub-vocalist, posted on Instagram that she has left JYP Entertainment after a 14-year partnership that began when she was a trainee at 13. Her exit follows Jeongyeon's departure earlier in the month, marking two member exits in quick succession. The artist has faced health issues, notably a vasovagal syncope diagnosis in November 2025 and earlier back discomfort, which curtailed some scheduled activities.
Her September 2025 solo album, LIL FANTASY vol.1, featured her as a producer working with Gliiico, Slom and Sumin across various genres. Chaeyoung indicated that future LIL FANTASY work will be self-directed, separate from label management. While other members such as Jihyo and Tzuyu have been rumored to consider leaving, no official statements have been made, and the group assures fans that TWICE activities will continue unchanged.
