Twin brothers, 18, charged with patricide and attempted matricide in western France

Two 18-year-old twins were formally accused of killing their 61-year-old father in Lorient and one of them also faces charges for trying to kill their mother in Eure-et-Loir.

Following the discovery of a 61-year-old man's body in his Lorient residence, investigators have formally charged his 18-year-old twin sons with murder and complicity in the stabbing. The prosecutor, Antoine Loussot, detailed that the father suffered multiple knife wounds to the chest and abdomen. One of the twins is also indicted for attempting to kill their mother, who resides in Eure-et-Loir, on suspicion of attempted matricide.

Both brothers have earlier records for drug trafficking and theft, and were subject to an educational monitoring program. In addition, they face allegations of participation in a criminal association. Both remain in pre-trial detention as the inquiry seeks to clarify the precise sequence of events and each individual's involvement.
