Two 19-year-old men killed in Rotherham crash, families mourn

At approximately 6.43 pm on Saturday, emergency crews were called to a crash on East Bawtry Road in Rotherham involving a white BMW 3 Series that veered off the road and hit a lamppost. The two occupants, 19-year-old Jacob Patching and Jacob Skidmore, were declared dead at the scene despite the efforts of members of the public, firefighters, paramedics and police officers. Jacob Patching’s family remembered him as loyal, hardworking and humorous, while Jacob Skidmore’s relatives highlighted his passion for fixing engines and his close ties to friends, colleagues and his girlfriend.
Both families expressed gratitude to emergency responders and the wider community for their support. South Yorkshire Police continue to investigate the circumstances and have appealed for witnesses or video footage, providing contact details for submissions.
