Two bodies found with signs of violence in Valverde de Júcar home
Bodies of a separated couple were discovered dead with violent injuries in a house in Valverde de Júcar, Cuenca.
On Thursday evening, Guardia Civil and firefighters from Motilla del Palancar entered a residence on Mayorazgo street in Valverde de Júcar after a 112 call reported a locked house with two occupants. They found the bodies of a 37-year-old woman and an unidentified man, both showing signs of violent injury. A medical one outlet confirmed the deaths, and the Cruz Roja psychosocial team was activated.
The pair were in separation proceedings and parents of two under-age daughters, with no known prior complaints. The municipal mayor, Eduardo Mena, said the town would observe official mourning, lower flags, cancel weekend events and hold a public gathering. Castilla-La Mancha President Emiliano García-Page and Equality Minister Sara Simón expressed deep sorrow and suggested the case could represent a new gender-based homicide.
