Two Burgos teenagers arrested for killing an 83-year-old during a home robbery
Police in Burgos have detained a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old suspected of killing an 83-year-old woman while stealing jewelry from her home.
National police arrested two minors, aged 16 and 17, who live in Burgos and are accused of murdering an 83-year-old resident during a burglary at her Vitoria Street home. The woman succumbed to respiratory insufficiency after being gagged and immobilised, which blocked her regular oxygen equipment. The investigation, led by the Policía Nacional and supported by forensic and surveillance analysis, uncovered a disorderly scene and identified stolen gold jewelry that has since been recovered.
The youths were questioned overnight and handed over to the local Fiscalía de Menores for possible detention in a juvenile facility. Authorities stress that the case remains open, with further arrests possible as they examine additional evidence.
