Two children injured after wind lifts jumping castle at Geelong party
High winds sent a jumping castle soaring at a party near Geelong, throwing two children from it; both are now in stable condition at hospital.
Around 11 a.m. on Saturday, strong gusts lifted a jumping castle at a private gathering on Lower Duneed Road in Mount Duneed, causing it to rise into the air. Two children were ejected from the inflatable and were taken to a hospital where they remain stable. Emergency services responded quickly, and police noted that many other children playing on the castle were unharmed. The incident recalled the 2021 Hillcrest tragedy in Tasmania, where a similar weather event caused multiple fatalities.
