Two Class 10 students arrested for stabbing school principal in Nalgonda
Police have taken into custody two Class 10 pupils suspected of killing principal Roopa Reddy after she caught one stealing from her home.
More than a week after Roopa Reddy's body was discovered inside her Nalgonda home, police arrested two Class 10 students from her school, alleging they carried out the stabbing after she confronted one for theft. The principal was found with 27 knife wounds on August 11 while alone, and her final call to her aunt included the word "babu," prompting investigators to examine student involvement. Detectives noted a sudden rise in lavish spending by two pupils, leading to their arrest and the seizure of Rs 1.51 lakh and an iPhone, the cash bearing human blood.
The boys, known to consume alcohol and eager for quick money, had been warned by the principal weeks earlier for carrying cash and a phone, after which one was moved out of the hostel. Police say the youths planned the robbery, scouted the house, and fled with about Rs 2.5 lakh, discarding clothing in a drain. Both are now before the Juvenile Justice Board, with transfer to a juvenile home pending.
