Two dead after high-speed McLaren crashes into tree and ignites in Irvine

At approximately 12:20 a.m. Saturday, a 2019 McLaren accelerated from a stopped position at a traffic light on Culver Drive in Irvine, California, and struck a curb before careening into a tree at the Deerfield Avenue crossing. The high-speed impact caused the vehicle to split into two sections and burst into flames. First responders from the Orange County Fire Authority and police arrived quickly, discovering both occupants deceased inside the mangled car.
The victims' names, ages, and other personal details remain undisclosed. Authorities have not indicated involvement of any other vehicles, and the investigation into the crash continues.
